Unlocking the Ivory Tower was used during at Sun-Yat Sen University in Guangzhou, China for a DBA course in Research Methods, to positive reviews by the doctoral students. It greatly assisted them in reviewing key literature in Entrepreneurship and understanding how research questions were addressed.

"Many books on management scare the average reader away with a barrage of painful self-help cliches or inaccessible and complex language. However, it appears the authors of this book, who crucially have a background in both business and academia, have realised that a majority of managers do not have the time to immerse themselves in pages of academic prose."
